vim-4 semantic labels

Posted by Christopher Hall at April 18. 2023

Hi,

I am attempting to replicate and extend the analysis performed on the vim-4 dataset and published as below.

  • Çukur, Tolga, Shinji Nishimoto, Alexander G. Huth, and Jack L. Gallant. 2013. “Attention during Natural Vision Warps Semantic Representation across the Human Brain.” Nature Neuroscience 16 (6): 763–70.

The stimulus files do not include labels for the 935 object and action categories used in the analysis. Could those be uploaded? The usefulness of the dataset is severely limited without access to those labels.

All the best,
Christopher Hall

Thanks for asking for this information.  In response, the data contributor provided a file containing the semantic labels.  The file is named "attention_categories.txt".  A link to the file has been added to the landing page describing the data set (that is, at the bottom of the About vim-4 page).
