About eye-1

Information about the data.

Summary. 

This freely shared dataset consists of a body of 520 human eye-tracking data traces obtained while normal, young adult human volunteers freely watched complex video stimuli (TV programs, outdoors videos, video games). The dataset comprises eye movement recordings from eight distinct subjects watching 50 different video clips (~25 minutes of total playtime; Itti, 2004; 2005; this is the “Original” experiment), and from another eight subjects watching the same set of video clips after scrambling them into randomly re-ordered sets of 1-3s clippets (Carmi & Itti, 2006a; 2006b; this is the “MTV” experiment).  A very nice and much fuller description of the data is crcns-eye1-summary.pdf (270.3 kB).

Format of the data.

Data format is describe crcns-eye1-readme.txt (18.1 kB).  To make it easier to download, all the files have been put into four zip files, each between 1.2 GB and 1.8 GB.  After downloading, uncompress them all in the same directory.

Getting help using the data.

If you have questions about using the data, post them on the forum for using data sets.  It is also possible to email questions to the data contributors.  Instructions for doing this are included with the download.  However, posting questions to the forum is preferable because then everyone can see the answers.

Publications created through usage of the data should cite the data set in the following recommended format:

The above citation uses a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) which is assigned to the data set.  The DOI was created using DataCite (www.datacite.org) and the California Digital Library, "EZID" system (n2t.net/ezid/).
