About hc-31

Information about the hc-31 data set.

Summary

This dataset is tetrode recorded single units and LFP from dorsal CA1 of 5 rats are they explored a novel 48-m long linear track. A repeat exposure to the track is included as well as a second smaller open field environment and flanking sleep sessions. The data are reported in:

Rich, P. Dylan, Hua-Peng Liaw, and Albert K. Lee. “Large Environments Reveal the Statistical Structure Governing Hippocampal Representations.” Science 345, no. 6198 (August 15, 2014): 814–17. https://doi.org/10.1126/science.1255635.

Format of the data

The data is stored in MATLAB files and in Neuralynx Data File Format (.ncs) files. A script is provided which allows loading the .ncs files into MATMAB Details of the format are given in the document linked to at the bottom of this page. Total data size is about 8.4 GB (compressed).
