About mt-2

Information about the data including cells, stimuli, format of the data.

Summary of the data

The dataset contains activity of 45 neurons in the area MT of awake macaques in response to naturalistic movies. The data were originally published in:

Shinji Nishimoto, Jack L. Gallant (2011). A three-dimensional spatiotemporal receptive field model explains responses of area MT neurons to naturalistic movies. The Journal of Neuroscience, 31(41):14551-64.

Format of the data

All data (stimulus and neuron-responses) are in MatLab files. The format is describe in the document linked to at the bottom of this page. Total space for the data is about 16 GB (compressed).

How to download the data

Data may be downloaded from:
https://portal.nersc.gov/project/crcns/download/mt-2
A CRCNS.org account is required. See the download link for more instructions.

Getting help using the data

If you have questions about using the data, post them on the forum.

How to cite the data

Publications created through usage of the data should cite the publication given above (Nishimoto and Gallant, 2011) and also cite the data set using the following:

Shinji Nishimoto, Jack L. Gallant (2018). Extracellular recordings from area MT of awake macaques in response to naturalistic movies. CRCNS.org.

The above citation uses a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) which is assigned to the data set.  The DOI was created using DataCite (www.datacite.org) and the California Digital Library, "EZID" system (n2t.net/ezid/).
